«Chronicles of the Day»
News from the fields
On Sunday, 13 April 2008, the last participants worked tracking at the World Championship in tracking IPO FH in the Slovak Republic.
During four days we carefully watched what was going on and constantly received the information direct from the fields from our Czech colleagues.
The teams from 22 countries (43 conductors with dogs) participated in the competitions and if it wasn’t the only team from the USA, than as a matter of principle it would be the championship of Europe, as the 21 teams represented the trainers of the European countries.
The examination of tracking work was made by:

Each country was represented by 2 participants, except for:
| - Czechia - 3. | Irena Zemanová in 2007 became the world champion (IPO-FH) with the GSD Kája od hradu Lipky and this year she participated without passing through the elimination round (93+93) 186 points – «very good» 12th place. Besides, K.Kováč with malinois Akim Alukuk was also in the team (96+96) 192 points – «excellent» 6th place, and with unsuccessful tracking work R.Moravek with the female dog from Tom z Pohranični Stráže CS (8+90) 98 points – «insufficient». |
| - Estonia – 1. | This country was represented only by one participant I.Mahoni with the female dog from universally famous Zilber Vasserfal Mendeley (80+3) 83 points – « insufficient ». |
| - Poland. | There is some incomprehensibility with this team. According to the official results, the declared by the reserve “jolly couple” from the World Championship in IPO-2007 in Bratislava performed , L.Pisarczyk с Brita Psi Kantor (93+91) 184 points – «very good» 13th place. In the team result it was they who were declared (announced). But in the report of the championship there are results of the first track (93 points), which was under the 25th number Slawomir Kawka with GSD Vat Cevara, and nothing further... |
The ten participant countries had the reserves with them (the third conductor with the dog):
Austria – Hovavart,
Germany, Luxemburg, Finland – Malinios
Holland, Denmark, Slovenia, Slovakia, Poland and Croatia – German shepherds.
Besides GSD in the competition took part the following dogs:
- 1 Tervueren from Denmark (94+96) 190 points – «very good» (on Saturday evening – the 5th result) as a result – the 10th place;
- 1 Labrador retriever – Austria (73+94) 167 points – «good» - 23rd place;
- 1 Rottweiler from Hungary (23+51) 74 points – « insufficient » - 41st place;
- 1 Holland shepherd from Luxemburg (3+82) 85 points – « insufficient » - 38th place;
- 5 Malinois – the Czech Republic (96+96) 192 points, Luxemburg (86+89) 175 points – 20th place, Belgium (73+84) 157 points – 27th place, Holland (93+90) 183 points – 14th place, France (52+92) 144 points – 29th place.
4 participants didn’t cope with tracking:
The USA (66+8) 74 points – 40th place
Hungary (23+51) 74 points – 41st place
Norway (23+42) 65 points – 42nd place
Serbia (8+52) 60 points – 43rd place
The work of Greg v. Haus Endrikat - F.Dreyer from Germany was very upsetting (62+94) 156 points – «insufficient» - 28th place.
In November 2007 he won the SV championship IPO-FH, and in February 2008 he won the championship in Germany (VDH) with the result of (100+98). At BSP-2007 in section «А» - 100 points.
But his team colleague K.Herglotz with Carry v.d. Woeste, which took the 2nd place at VDH-2008 (99+98), in Slovakia show the result of (94+100) 194 points – «excellent» - 3rd place.
The performance of Furby’t Palmaleinehof, the son of Zender vom Lusondai, from Croatia can be considered as the sensation of the world championship. In June he will be only 2 years of age, but his result is already (81+80) 161 points – «good» - 26th place.
By the way, the only kennel, represented by two participants in the championship, was Palmaleinehof.
